Hello, everyone! I hope everyone is having a
wonderful year. As we progress through March,
students are becoming anxious for the high
stakes tests to come.
As we have just finished the CAHSEE exam for
the class of 2011 we all look forward to
seeing how our boot camp worked.
Unfortunately, we will not know for 10 weeks.
Before we know, our students will be taking
another battery of exams - the California
Subject Tests. These tests will take
almost a week (the end of April) at the end of
which the Complex will host a "World Faire" to
celebrate our successes. So our students must
stay focused. Arts continues to stay focused
on state standards and student productivity at
the proficient levels. We believe all students
have the ability to learn, we encourage all
students to work to their fullest potential
and we expect their personal best at all
times. Our character banners that grace the
walls of the school’s center court set the
expectations we have for all members of our
learning community. It takes a partnership
between home and school to see that these
character skills are modeled, learned, and
practiced by everyone. Arts continues to
strive towards excellence in academic and
social development. Academic success and
leading a literate life is influenced by what
is expected at home as well as at school. Help
us achieve our goals for your children.
We
need to be united in the effort of improving
our test scores.
We need to keep our school learning
environment safe, clean and beautiful by
taking pride in our surroundings. Please help
us by volunteering your time to help out in
the classrooms and during school events. We
will have many projects and activities
happening throughout the rest of the school
year where we invite your participation. It
is important for your child to see you
involved in his/her education both in the
classroom and out.
We have had a few staff changes during the
course of this year. See the Arts staff page
for the new teachers. Changes bring new
experiences and discoveries. Changes are also
empowering as long as we all remain focused on
the same vision and belief that every child
deserves an equal opportunity to learn.
Learning is an evolving process which requires
meaningful input from all parties involved.
I look forward to working with you throughout
the rest of the school year! Thank you for
your help!
